What does GDPR mean for OMAWAKE and for you?

It means we all need to take extra care when collecting and processing the personal data of our customers (emails, phone numbers etc) so that we can provide customers with the assurances they may want about how their data is being protected and used.

Where is OMAWAKE’s consumer data stored?

OMAWAKE stores all data in servers and backup servers located in the United Kingdom. The software is a cloud-based, which means that all data is safely stored on servers with the highest levels of reliability and security.

Can customers request to be removed from the OMAWAKE database?

All customers can submit their requests to remove their information from OMAWAKE databases by contacting Customer Support Department support@omawake.com.

Will partner’s financial data be affected if a client requests to close the account?

No. If one of the partner’s client requests to be removed from our database, they will be able to do so without impacting the partner’s necessary financial and operational data.

Will OMAWAKE be introducing a clearly defined retention period for consumer data?

OMAWAKE ensures that data is retained no longer than is required.

What are my responsibilities (as business partners or service providers) as it relates to GDPR readiness?

As a business partner, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the key requirements of the GDPR. This includes:

  • notifying individuals of how you handle their personal information,
  • obtaining their consent where appropriate,
  • addressing their requests for access to their information, etc.

How can users unsubscribe from emails sent from my OMAWAKE site?

Users can easily unsubscribe from the OMAWAKE newsletter. There are links in all emails sent which customers can follow to unsubscribe or they may do so by contacting the OMAWAKE Customer Support team at support@omawake.com.

What are OMAWAKE operational auto emails?

The following list of auto emails are considered operational, meaning a client will receive them even if he/she have unsubscribed from all communication emails:

  • Account activation
  • Booking Confirmation
  • Forgot Login Information
  • Purchase Receipt
  • Booking Cancellation
  • Message Notification

Can Service Providers review client’s request for removal of data before they are processed by OMAWAKE?

As the data controller, it is ultimately the partner’s responsibility for approving every erasure request submitted for your business. Some things to consider before approving deletion of the client’s account are:

  • Scheduled visits
  • Unpaid visits
  • Client’s history or liability information that needs to be downloaded or recorded for business records

Will OMAWAKE sign a customer's Data Protection Agreement (DPA)?

The OMAWAKE Privacy Policy, which is tailored to and incorporated into your Agreement with OMAWAKE, covers additional terms and is intended to serve the same needs that a DPA might fill.
